The Tarnak Farm incident refers to the accidental killing of four Canadian soldiers and the injury of eight others from the Third Battalion of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (3PPCLI) on the night of April 18, 2002 by an American F-16 fighter jet. The aircraft, piloted by U.S. Air National Guard Major Harry Schmidt, dropped a laser-guided 227-kilogram (500 lb) bomb on the Canadians who were conducting a night firing exercise at Tarnak Farms, near Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Not sure how this is funny, with the LOL comment... BUT... FF is unfortunately an ever present danger in war. Yes, America is involved in many of the FF incidents that occur, but when you look at end strength numbers for ISAF in Afghanistan, it is pretty clear why. It is based on ratio and averages. Canada ISAF Strength in Afghanistan: 2830 troops US ISAF Strength in Afghanistan: 45,7800 troops Not a knock at Canada or any of the ISAF Troop Contributing Nations by the way. In fact, Canada has one of the larger end strengths for ISAF than most of the TCNs currently deployed to Afghanistan.
