"Seine River" Wikipedia (via DBPedia)
The Seine is a slow-flowing major river and commercial waterway within the regions of Île-de-France and Haute-Normandie in France and famous as a romantic backdrop in photographs of Paris, France. It is also a tourist attraction, with excursion boats offering sightseeing tours of the Rive Droite and Rive Gauche within the city of Paris. It terminates in the Bay of the Seine region of the English Channel and is navigable by ocean-going vessels for about ten percent of its length, as far as Rouen, 120 km (75 miles) from the sea, while over sixty percent of its length, as far as Burgundy near the Swiss Alps, is negotiable by commercial riverboats and nearly its whole length is available for recreational boating. There are 37 bridges over the River Seine just within Paris and dozens more spanning the river outside the city. Examples in Paris include the Pont Louis-Philippe and Pont Neuf, the later of which dates back to 1607. Outside the city, examples include the Pont de Normandie, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world, which links Le Havre to Honfleur.

We went on Bateaux Parisiens and it was wonderful. It does include 2 bottles of wine, and we don't really drink either, but it came with a wonderful meal, nice live music, and it was romantic and relaxing. We paid a bit more for a window seat, but you can see well from anywhere on the boat. The dock is just to the right of the Eiffel Tower facing the river. We also booked on line in advance and I doubt if it saved anything except our window seats. Everything was in order, our names were on the list when we arrived and they were very nice. Dress is nice--we actually saw people turned away because they were too casual, but they were probably walk-ups and didn't know the dress code. Enjoy the dinner cruise, see Paris light up in front of you and don't worry so much about the cost. It isn't too bad and well worth the memories. Just skip paying the €20 for the photo at your table. We paid €120 each for the window seats and this is the only one we did so its all I can tell you about, but it was wonderful and we loved it on our first night in Paris. Bonne chance and enjoy whatever you decide.

I like the Vedettes du Pont Neuf since they depart from the Ile de la Cite (the center of the city where Notre Dame is). You can get your tickets online or print out a coupon that you can use to get a discount. http://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/

Linden trees line the Seine River in Paris. The leaves are heart-shaped, 4-6 inches long, 3-4 inches wide, dark green with extremely shiny undersides. When the wind blows, the leaf blades are flung over to reveal a glistening bright underside. The Linden is often planted as a shade or street tree because of its fairly rapid rate of growth, plentiful shade and fragrant flowers. In cities its fruit are eaten by squirrels, while in the country its fruit are eaten by chipmunks and other small rodents.

Hi - the small river cruises that they offer departing from locations like the Eiffel Tower are quite good. They are nice in the evening around sunset when you can get some very beautiful effects on the water. Generally they are tours of the bridges, travelling along the Seine, around the Isle de la Cite (round the back of Notre Dame, and then back to where you started. They do not take to long and are ccompanied with a multi language commentary on a kind of phone. I'd say do it!
