The River Thames is a major river flowing through southern England. While best known because its lower reaches flow through central London, the river flows through several other towns and cities, including Oxford, Reading and Windsor. The river gives its name to several administrative / political names: The Thames Valley, a region of England centred around the river between Oxford and West London, the Thames Gateway, the area centred around the tidal Thames, and the Thames Estuary to the east of London.

the tower bridge area is slush mud. But when the tide goes out.. the Thames is tidal, and the river ebbs.. back and forward. there is sand which is grey and over 2000 years old. and small stones around that area the tide .. and currents are very strong, and in the 18 century people jumped into the Thames to kill themselves in that area. the Romans came there in AD 50 And the first bridge was London bridge very close to tower bridge.. hope this is some help

Military helicopter aircrew are required to be familiar with flying in complex airspace and this is afforded by the Heathrow and London area. When there is other landing traffic at City or Heathrow the helicopters are required to hold their position until it is clear to proceed. It is safer to fly an orbit than to hover in case of an engine failure. There are also several places that they are required to land in the Thames area as well. Hope this helps!

I'm sure you could drown eventually even if you were a strong swimmer, but I think it's more likely that you'd freeze to death or you'd get poisoned first.
