Inheritance was a 1967 Granada produced ITV drama based on a 1932 novel by Phyllis Bentley. The ten-part period drama revolved around the fortunes of the Oldroyds, a Yorkshire mill owning family from 1812 to 1965. That does sound like The Inheritance in many ways. Are you sure it's not the one that you're thinking of? Her "adoptive" father, played by Tom Conti turns out to be her uncle and there is a scene where he gets angry at the man who accosted Edith.

1. Hmm.. I think Edward is better because Eragon only gets better with his dragons. Well, if Edward wants, he can bite Eragon easily. Run quickly to Eragon and just do his "eating things". 2. Gandalf is so much better than Harry. Harry can't do a great spell such as unforgivable spell like Avada Kedavra or Crucio. But Gandalf, he has more powers than Harry. He can do a single battle, too. Harry will be very useless without his wand. 3. I only know about Dune book a little. I think Fang will win. Fang can strike Dune in the air with his palm to hurt Dune's ribs. Fang still can make himself invisible. So, he can do some surprised attacks. I myself really want Fang to win because I admire him and Max so much. 4. Probably Ron will win. Ron can use a physical attack against Lyra whom only can use the golden compass. He can use his wand, too although he's not very good in it. Well, Lyra can win with a small percentage if Ron doesn't want to hurt any girls. 5. I think Vito is more powerful. I think he has more intelligent in suspecting something than Dexter (who only hears about the voice). 6. Edward will win easily. He just need to run as regular and bite Jason. Although Jason is strong, too, we know that he is a regular person. Edward can't die too, except being burned. It has a small percentage for Jason to burn Edward out, too. It will be an easy fights for Edward. 7. I don't know any spell which can affect Volturi (probably Avada Kedavra can do it). But, Order of Phoenix won't do such a thing like that to kill someone. But, I think Volturi will win. Volturi has Alice now, so they can checked for the future about their fight. Although it still has Albus, it's difficult to win against Volturi. 8. We don't know about the condition. Does the Batman use his technology with him too? But as a summary, I think Max will win. She can fly about 300km/hour right? She can kill Batman anytime she wants when she fly. Then, we know that Max has powerful powers than usual people. I think Batman is included into that "usual people". With some technology, there's some chances for Batman. Probably if Batman fight Max in a small room, he can win (because of Max claustrophobia and she can't fly inside it).

Edward v Eragon i havent read twilight, but ive heard enough about it, so id pick edward, unfortunatly. eragon would probably start better but then whine about not having saphira and then go off on a tangent about how killing is bad. he'd die from the distraction HP v Gandalf how is this even a question?!?! anyone who thinks harry would win knows nothing about LOTR. gandalf really cant die, because the order brings him back. besides, he could beat harry in a millisecond anyways dune v fang didnt read either, but dune is an older book and older characters are always more bad a**, so i guess paul wins lyra/ron lyra, shes a little more demanding, which i think would aid her in a fight dexter/vito never heard of dexter edward/jason jason, in every respect....this is kind of a sad comparison too volturi/order of the phoenix i cant picture the order getting into a fight in an elevator, plus they have an uncanny fatality rate regardless, so i guess volturi max/batman you cant beat batman. you just cant peter/legolas legolas. hes got the training and the will to fight; peter was forced into fighting and didn't really wanna be there at all bond/bourne i cant not give this to bond, hes such a classic character, even if i thing bourne would beat the heck outta him tom/HP sans wand well. i think tom would just do somthing cunning and deceitful and then escape out of the elevator, so i guess there wouldn't be a fight. in an actual physical fight though, tom would probably still win. harry's not exactly the epitome of physical strength willy/bella psh, willy all the way, especially from the older movie. hes just so creepy in a happy way that bella couldnt stand it. but of course, ive always wanted to know who would survive the survive-off between bear grylls and les stroud....an answer i will never find. my money's still on stroud though....fun question!
