"Court Order" Wikipedia (via DBPedia)
A court order (or court ruling) is an official proclamation by a judge (or panel of judges) that defines the legal relationships between the parties to a hearing, a trial, an appeal or other court proceedings. Such ruling requires or authorizes the carrying out of certain steps by one or more parties to a case. A court order must be signed by a judge; some jurisdiction may require it to be notarized. The content and provisions of a court order depend on the type of proceeding, the phase of the proceedings in which they are issued, and the procedural and evidentiary rules that govern the proceedings. An order can be as simple as setting a date for trial or as complex as restructuring contractual relationships by and between many corporations in a multi-jurisdictional dispute (i.e. , different states or countries). It may be a final order (one that concludes the court action), or an interim order (one during the action). Most orders are written, and are signed by the judge. Some orders, however, are spoken orally by the judge in open court, and are only reduced to writing in the transcript of the proceedings.

11th-Hour Court Order Blocks Oil and Gas Leases in Utah
The federal Bureau of Land Management's chance to cash in on millions of dollars from oil and gas leases in Utah starting this week has been delayed, at least temporarily, by a court order. A court order on Monday delayed a Bush administration plan to auction landing slots at the three major airports in the New York region, pushing the proposal into the Obama administration, where it may die. Court Order Allows Rallies in Capital of Zimbabwe
A Zimbabwe court ruled Saturday that opposition rallies planned for this weekend in Harare, the capital, should not have been banned by the police and may take place, Nelson Chamisa, a spokesman for the political opposition, said. Tapes Not Part of Court Order, C.I.A. Insists
A records search by the Central Intelligence Agency has found no evidence that the agency violated a judge's order when, in 2005, it destroyed videotapes that showed harsh interrogations, the C.I.A. said in a court declaration this week. The agency destroyed interrogation videotapes in November 2005, months after a federal judge issued an order for... More »

Egypt's Election Panel to Ignore Court Order on Poll Monitors

I think this is something that you perhaps need to ask of your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

Depending upon the type of debt, they have a certain time limit (varies by state) to file a court order for a judgment against you. Simply filing the paperwork with supporting documents stating that you owe the debt is usually enough. They have a limited number of attempts to contact you for delivery. It's either 3 or 5 attempts. If they can't deliver, it will be presumed by the court that you are avoiding the problem and that delivery and receipt is presumed completed. It won't be removed. The creditor will get a default judgment against you.

Pets are property. They have no rights themselves nor you to them beyond your property and, legally, are nothing more than, as you compared, equal to a couch. You can't argue that they can't sell your couch because you love it. If it can be determined that the fish have enough value worth selling and worth paying the debt, they can be sold. As long as the animals are not intentionally harmed during this process, it is not considered animal abuse.

usually, you cant 'commit' someone to the hospital without proving that the person is a danger to themselves or others - example, someone who you know is driving drunk, threatening to kill someone, or threatening to kill themselves. if he doesnt want to go to the hospital for tests, you cant have him committed. the only way you could get him to go otherwise is if you have been granted power of attorney (POA) over your dad, in which case he would have to sign over this power to you....in this case, you are entitled to make medical/health decisions in your dad's behalf in the case that he is mentally incapacitated, unable to make a decision for himself (in a coma, etc), or if you can prove he has some sort of mental disorder (such as dementia) that makes him unable to understand the repercussions of his decisions. maybe this is something you should talk to your dad about and see if it is something he may consider.
