2. "Gary Sheffield,Barry Bonds and Mark Mcgwire will announce they will be all partners and form a new baseball team that will be coming to MLB in 2015" I highly doubt this will happen. If it does, the players on the team should be tested for steroids monthly. Those three sound susicous 4. "Carlos Zambrano will be going to WWE or TNA to wrestle while hes on suspension indefinitely from The Chicago Cubs" LOL. I was actually thinking of that when I saw his face during his spat with Derek Lee. I was like "oh. Raw has a guest host thing. I guess it's time for him to become guest host for one night and fight." I could really imaging Carlos Zambrano doing clothslines and punching 3. "The 1981 baseball strike lasted 232 days" 1. "The San Diego padres won the 1984 world series" 2. "The Boston Americans won the world series in 1904 due to the boycott" Alan Trammell Lou Whitaker John Olerud

You know you make a solid debate...why isn't he in the hall of fame with those astonishing numbers? I'm sure there are quite a few that aren't even close in comparisons. Just based on 10x all star, 4x gold glove, and WS champ alone should give him the nod.

IMO Fingers, though it is close. I did see both of them play, but did not see a whole lot of games of either of those teams. I don't know what the statistics will show though, and would not underestimate them because we all have opinions based on things like blown saves in game 7 of the World Series against the Diamondbacks or in game 4 against the Red Sox in 2004 - but the stats don't lie (and overall, are usually a better predictor of future performance than opinions). Rivera had saves in many key post-season games also like game 7 against the Red Sox in 2003 and was generally dominant then and in the regular season. Seems to me that Fingers to a large extent defined the role of modern relief pitchers - though others at the time were excellent also, such as Hiller for the Tigers - better for a season or 2 (had 38 saves in 1973 & won 17 games as a reliever in 1974). There were always relief pitchers, but prior to his era there really was no such thing as a closer as we think of it and it was much more common for a starter to throw a complete game. You must consider how a person played in their era because athletes are becoming better all the time. The Royals last year could probably beat the 1927 Yankees - and it may not even be close. Additional comment: Fingers was actually 3-4 during post-season, with a 2.35 ERA as opposed to Rivera's 8-1 with a 0.81 ERA. There are alot more stats to consider than that, but that tends to favor Rivera. He also had a better ERA and ratios of H/IP & BB/SO for the regular season - though would not generally pitch to as many batters as Fingers. I think I just changed my mind ;) - it is simply that when someone is so good you notice their mistakes much more.

Fred Lynn was a very consistent player. His consistency and durability were his strengths. Fans really appeared to like him. I grew up during the time he was on the Angels and Orioles. He was on the Angels the same time my Milwaukee Brewers were competing against them to win the AL pennant. I still remember his performance in the All-Star game. I think he even hit a grand slam in the All-Star game, if I am not mistaken. I would say he should be in the Hall of Fame.
